Legend has it that in the village of La Mota, the young Doña Elena was captured by an army commanded by King Caid. This king wanted to make Doña Elena the wife of Prince Ali. When she refused to obey this command, she was locked in a cell in the tower of La Mota, where the soldiers bricked up the door, depriving her of food and water and calling her “La Cautiva(The Captive)". Months passed, and the Christian army went into battle to recapture this town. "Doña Elena must be dead," they thought. "Tear down the wall and see for yourselves," said the Christian king. When they did, they were all surprised to see Doña Elena, weak but still alive.

Everyone wondered, “How did you do it?” “It’s a miracle.” She, showing signs of weakness, whispered: “The sad drops of dew kept this jug filled with water, and a miraculous raven brought me a little bread every morning.” From then on, Doña Elena was able to recover, and in honor of this bird, the village of La Mota was renamed MOTA DEL CUERVO.

Just like the protagonist of the legend that gives the collection its name, "La Cautiva" ; wool and its crafts were locked away for a long time, weakened and on the verge of dying. Thanks to the entire Wooldreamers community, we have been receiving help and support, to keep going.

Thus Cautiva was born, a collection with The same wool and same heart as Mota, but a different format.

This collection will further expand the possibilities of knitting all kinds of projects with the wool from local flocks .
